Our decoupage is handmade to order in our New York studio using reproduced imagery from John Derian's vast collection of antique and vintage prints. Trained artisans cut and collage our designs onto handblown glass. Please allow time for production.
Do not immerse in water, wipe clean.
JOHN DERIAN COMPANY MAKING DECOUPAGE IN NEW YORK CITY SINCE 1989.
John Derian Company Inc. was established in 1989. John's decoupage is handmade in his studio in New York City, where he employs a small staff of artisans to assist with production. His designs are sold at upscale home stores, in catalogs, and gift shops worldwide. The full range of John's work, including his ephemera, ceramic and furniture collaborations, is available at his own retail shops in Manhattan's East Village where he has an ever-changing assortment of vintage and antique imports, bed and table linens, stationery, plate-ware, lighting and original art work by Hugo Guinness. The shop, John’s work and homes have been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, The World of Interiors, Elle Décor, Vanity Fair, Bon Appétit, New York Magazine, GQ, Details, W, Air France Madame, German AD and many more. The John Derian Picture Book, a compilation of some of his favorite 18th and 19th century images from his archive, was released in 2016 and quickly became a New York Times Best Seller.
John’s early obsession with printed matter ultimately led him to decoupage, the art of cutting and pasting paper. Since 1989, he and a small studio of artisans in New York City have been creating glass plates, trays, bowls, and other decorative home items with imagery from his vast and ever-expanding collection of 18th and 19th century prints. His pieces are coveted and collected across the globe.

Collaborations by John
ASTIER DE VILLATTE
In 2011, John Derian teamed up with Astier de Villatte to add his iconic imagery to their classic white tableware. The 19th-century inspired patterns and images perfectly complement the handmade ceramics.
John’s love of 18th and 19th century antiques led to the creation of his furniture collection with Cisco Brothers, an eco-friendly, family-run company based in Los Angeles. John’s designs are inspired by antique pieces found in Europe and the US and pair old style elegance and detailing with sustainable materials.
Thanks to a collaboration with New Jersey based wallpaper maker Studio Printworks, John's most well-loved 19th century images can now be enjoyed on a much larger scale--adorning your walls.
DEMPSEY & CARROLL
John’s love of paper now extends to a line of stationery through renowned New York City based stationers Dempsey & Carroll. The hand-engraved motifs on the cards pair beautifully with envelope liners using John’s imagery.
When the opportunity to collaborate with Goldfinch presented itself, John jumped at the chance to see the imagery from two of his most popular decoupage pieces given new life as soft wool blankets. Goldfinch’s wool blankets are dyed and woven in the valleys of Kathmandu, Nepal by artisans using traditional methods.
